I appreciate that at least some of you take care to ensure these pellets are kept out of reach of the higher forms of wildlife that may otherwise be harmed by them. For those that were perhaps not aware, please note the (perhaps so far unconfirmed) correlation  between metaldehyde and the decline in songbirds. That is not to say it is not toxic - it may simply be that nobody has yet commissioned a specific study. However, the toxicity to many higher life forms is well documented - please look at the link below, in particular, the symptoms in domesticated & wild animals under 'Poisoning Cases' and make your own mind up - if nothing else, there are some useful ideas under 'Alternatives'

Thank You  :)

When it comes down to it pesticides are designed to do one thing, kill. You either use them or you don`t. :D

Have you done a forum search on this subject?  This has been discussed many times before, it is not a sudden revelation to us.  I really don't like being lectured to like this when you seem to assume we don't know the "facts" and need educating like uninformed fools.

Keep it simple and don't get on a soapbox please.

Also, to carry any weight a real paper from a non-biased source would be believable.
So far nothing of that ilk is forthcoming.

I think this topic has been well and truely exhausted, so I've locked it.
