The good news is that you can grow a lot of things at this time of the year.

As a starter, Lettuce, Radish, Spring(Salad)Onions, Turnips, Beetroot, Swiss Chard, Japanish Radish, Rocket, Early types of peas,  I'd even be tempted to try a few courgettes which should grow quickly at this time of year and you should get a few fruits in late September/early October. You can get away with even more if you can cover the crops in October with cloches or fleece type materials to retain some heat.

Sow now or even later for next year, Spring Cabbage, Japanese Onions (wait until September,

As an alternative have a look at the Marshalls seed company web site. It might even be possible to order some winter brassica plants.
Ah well ! There is always next year !

I think a lot of people have had similar problems, with it being such a cold spring. Now of course it's important to keep seeds and seedlings watered to make sure they get going OK. I've just planted loads of stuff, like Beanzie recommends and even a few French beans I had left over, so fingers crossed.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
