...and the good news is, eventually I have a shed. It's a 20+ year old 6 x 4 in need of certain repars, but it's at my plot, newly painted green, and all the wood to repair it waiting and ready for final assembly.
Now I've harvested things, got a shed, and been for a pint with some of my fellow allotmenteers...I feel I have arrived.
.....there's another plot coming available this Autumn....maybe I'll put my name down !

go novice go novice.

Don't blame you for feeling good, the community around allotments is something else.

Put your name down for that other plot, you can vegitate the world. :D
first there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is

The social side of the allotment is a big part of what makes it fun. I love the mix as well, we've got all sorts on our site but they have one thing in common. I mention computers and their eyes glaze over :)

Congrats Novice - we'll have to change your name to Expert soon!

Thanks Jake - Maybe I'll just take over the whole village green.
...and thanks John, praise indeed.

I make no apologies about being delighted...people seriously thought I was only getting an allotment as an excuse to visit the 7 pubs.

Breaking News from the village with 7 pubs......
Despite the heat this morning, 44 year old Mr.Novice has assembled the shed on his allotment, he told reporters:
"I've still got a little bit of finishing off to do, but when it's done, I really believe it will make my fruit and veggies taste even better"
Mr.Novice then refused to answer any more questions from the assembled paparazzi, but some reporters heard him say...
"I'm off for a well earned pint or two, and something to eat"
Onlookers said that the shed looked "magnificent" and an elderly allotment holder said "it will enhance the allotments reputation having a fine structure like that"

Too much sun - too much beer.....Hmm you sound like Mrs.Novice ( see how brave I can be when she's not around )
I'd love to post a pic., but mysteriously, my camera isn't working anymore after my Step-Son borrowed it....
I took it into a repair shop and it needs a bit that only costs 15 quid, but add labour and VAT, and it's 70 quid !!
Off to the camera shop I guess...
