Next year I am thinking of growing my potatoes in 30l pots.

What are the best type of potato for this.

I grow all my potatoes in containers. The best first early is Lady Christl. Second early I would go for Jazzy. For my maincrop I have always grown Setanta as a good roasting potato for winter but someone on this forum suggested Sarpo Kifli as providing salad potatoes with a new potato taste throughout winter! I am definitely going to give them a go next year.

Results from my potato experiment. Yields are per tuber. I've still to harvest my mains (will update when I do) and previously have had 2kg/tuber from Sarpo Miras in 30L pots.

Results (yield in g/tuber) for the main crop spuds. All 2 tubers per 30L pot in MPC.

*2 widely different results from 2 pots: 2200g and 1040g due in part to some rejects in the second pot which was harvested a couple of weeks after the first - a few rejects in the 2nd pot of Carolus also but nowhere near as many.
