Title: blood spots

Help my hens are laying eggs with blood spots also they are runny the yolk bleeds into the white what causes this and whatcan I do thanks

How old are the hens mom ?

They are about 12 months old.

Blood spots in the egg are caused by a rupture of a small blood vessel when the yolk is released from the ovary so not much you can do about that.

Some hens lay eggs with very runny whites (I had a girl like that).  It's a genetic thing and nothing you can do about that.

Do you mean that the yolk ruptures when you crack the shell open ?
