Help my hens are laying eggs with blood spots also they are runny the yolk bleeds into the white what causes this and whatcan I do thanks
-
How old are the hens mom ?
-
They are about 12 months old.

Blood spots in the egg are caused by a rupture of a small blood vessel when the yolk is released from the ovary so not much you can do about that.
Some hens lay eggs with very runny whites (I had a girl like that). It's a genetic thing and nothing you can do about that.
Do you mean that the yolk ruptures when you crack the shell open ?

Thanks aunt sally for reply yes the yolk ruptures when cracked at least I know nothing to worry about thankyou
