Cucumber Seedlings

My cucumber seedlings have slowly but surely started to grow some more leaves, but the stem doesn't appear to be getting any thicker, and they don't appear to be getting taller, either.

Are they ok or do I need to do something to them?

Hi Mum, they're on the kitchen window ledge with the tomatoes.

They'd probably grow quicker somewhere warmer, but there's no hurry with the outside weather like it is

Mine seem to have started well and then on a go slow they look like yours I have some on the window sills and some in a unheated propergator. Keep moving them around with the sun. Do you think they will grow much quicker when the weather warms up.

Mine was started off in a heated propagator in the greenhouse and now potted them on and they are bigger than yours. I planted them out about 2-3 weeks ago. Maybe they need to be potted on and a little more heat.

I think itdepends on where they are going to end up - plot, cold greenhouse or heated greenhouse.

Mine will go in a cold greenhouse and I haven't even opened the packets yet - IMO there's no need to panic in a cold spring like this.

Mine will be going outside on the plot as i don't have a greenhouse down there. I think I'll pot them up and see how they get on.

Mine last year were small in the pots. but when I got them in the ground outside and in full sun all day, they really took off. I swear you could see them grow!

My cucumbers were the same, seemed to grow so big then stopped. Wasn't keen to transplant them as they didn't have a big rootball but I took a chance and they've since sprouted. Pleased to say after 2 weeks in 13cm pots I've got 2 flowers.
Looks like I'm clearing a space in the greenhouse so I can get them off the sitting room windowsill!!

They do grow really fast don't they surbie? With regards to my cucumbers I'm in the same boat as MoS in that I haven't sown them yet. I was going to pop them in this coming bank holiday weekend but only if the weather sorts itself out otherwise I may wait another week before sowing.

Reading this thread has reassured me it's not too late to sow cucumbers. I sowed 6 seeds at the end of March and they've not germinated. I'll give them another week and then resow. I've plenty of time as they will be outside in a sheltered part of my garden.
