I've got all my spuds in - planted them at the weekend.  Leaves me time to concentrate on getting other stuff started!

That's good - I am not alone!  The buds round here are bursting on the Hawthorn and that's normally a good clue for me to get started.

Ours went in at the weekend.

Today is like mid-June down here...almost too warm to go to the lotty...

As long as they are planted a little at depth they will take and light frosts in their stride...when the shoots emerge just cover them enough a sthey grow... stops em being nipped by the frosts.
We are on south coast so frosts not too severe here..only had a few frosts over winter!

not put mine in yet, but sorted the chits out so each seed has only the one good shoot,

i finished levelling the potatoe patch today and so much wanted to plant them, but i forced myself to hold off until the end of the month. Ive strewn some spud fertiliser on the bed anyway which will need a week or two to dissolve in.

Too early here I feel. I'll wait til Aidy does his - he knows loads more than me. Last year I put some in one month before some others and in the end they were both ready at the same time. You've got to work with nature haven't you?

Too early for me yet - couple of weeks at least. Last year a couple on our site were a bit too eager, a lateish frost got them, and they had a p*ss poor crop. That's not to say you won't get away with it though.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

OK so thanks to you lot, I am waiting to put mine in, I am desperate to get em in, but I am waiting.
2 questions..
1. Will the frost only 'get them' if the shoots are through? if they are fleeced will they be protetced?
2. My 'chits' are quite short, I did as I was instructed and left them on a sunny window sill  but they now seem to be getting leafy, chits are about an inch long and now have leaves coming on the ends. Should I worry? should I get the in sooner?
Oh and what about this mulching buisness? should I be doing this with paper?

Thanks for your help I am learing so much here!!
