'Secondary' or follow on cobs
« on: August 02, 2022, 18:47 »
Good evening everybody,  nearly all the cobs have been picked, the course outer leaves peeled off and the cobs in the freezer.  Will the secondary (smaller) cobs below the main crop ripen and be edible?
Cheers,  Tony.

Given enough moisture and sunshine, yes, sometimes I've had 3 cobs, or even 4, occasionally.
It depends of course on how tall your variety grows....

Critical too is whether the secondary ears had their silks out at the right time to get pollinated.
