We have a weed that smell like mint that has become invasive - the ducks - chicks and geese wont eat it and it now begining to spread out of their pond area into surrounding grass,
It has been suggested to use Roundup and kill it off - will this be dangerous for the ducks - chicks and geese or will it be harmless like other animals after application? We have about 1/4 acre to sort

Sounds like your spade will be your best friend for a while. It's the only way if animals are involved. Some people would simply smother the area in heavy black plastic for about a year + but that might not be practical with waterfowl around.

Hoe hoe hoe. All i can say.

If it's at all related to the mint family, hoeing is the worst thing you can do - it'll only encourage more roots. Digging out is the only solution. I went through that 2 years ago and it worked.

It sounds like the Water mint. Like any mint it can go a bit mad, but it doesnt sound a good idea to use round up especially as its near the pond.
