Sweetcorn
« on: April 26, 2009, 10:57 »
For the last two years have had a major problem with badgers diggin up my sweetcorn.  Would love to grow some, as can't imagine anything nicer than eating freshly picked corn.

Has anyone had any sucess with growing it in pots.  My idea is to grow each stalk in an individual pot and put them in a block, then bring them in, or put them somewhere safe overnight so pesky badgers can't get to them.
I have a pair of secateurs and I'm not afraid to use them!!

Not sure about growing in pots but I do remember reading in John's book that sweetcorn, unusually, grows overnight.  This might have consequences for you bringing it indoors.

Oh poo   Think I will try the pots anyway and hopefully that will be deterrent enough!
