Title: Deodoriser
Post by: JohnVW on October 04, 2010, 16:07
I have just constructed a really nice run for my four ladies, 21ft x 10ft.  This in in addition to their 12ft x 4ft house.  Is their such a thing as a deodoriser type disinfectant that can be sprayed on the ground to keep things sweet.  Is is a soil floor part covered, part open. (They do so love to dig)  Any infor gratefully received.

there is a powder disinfectant called stalisan f which a lot of us use in winter for cleaning out our coops as washing in bad weather will not allow them to dry before the girls go back to bed. It is also suitable for sprinkling in their runs.

Won't smell if you can keep it dry.  I put a roof over our run last year, and its now just one huge clean dust bath.  Have to take the hose in now and then to damp it down.

Now and then, I take in the garden fork and turn it all over, and that refreshes it too.
