I'll let Gatehouse know about listing when I go back for more food - they're in the process of expanding into what sounds like a great little shop too but they already sell most things anyway.  Sounds like Meadowsweet themselves have a bit to learn about customer service and polite communication (glad I'm not the only one who got the short end of them though!)  ::)  Dunno when that'll be though, I've only got 3 girls so they'll take a while to get through a sackful!

Meadowsweet are strange - I sent them a clear email explaining about the free no-catch listings and she phoned me and then got positively rude because I won't reveal information I don't think I should.

Perhaps they don't want their agents to have another source of enquiries.

The other weird ones are the battery hen people - I contacted them and they didn't want to know. If I was charging or asking for anything in return, fair enough but I'm not.

I live in  Newcastle but find I have to travel to Hexham for poultry supplies.  Place called Farmways, but not sure if they have more outlets.

Joyce, I get all of my supplies from Knox at Swalwall. Right next to the Metro centre.

There must be more than a couple of suppliers in the NE. I'm on Teesside/North Yorkshire and there's nothing in the Yellow pages but I don't know if breeders/suppliers of birds don't like to advertise in case of attacks from people who disagree with hens being used for eggs or birds being bred to be eaten???

ANY suppliers in this area that are known about please let me know as I'm after a few girls.

cheers

Stu

Hi Julie, have you sent your details to John the site owner so he can put you on our suppliers list?  We don't have the actual advertising on the forums themselves.

If you haven't already done it, just go top of page where it says Poultry pages, then onto poultry and egg suppliers.  there is a contact list there that you fill in and send to John.

Thank you for letting everyone know where you are.

PS, just noticed that you are now on the Poultry Pages, so I'll remove this phone number if that's okay.  It's not good to have contact details on open forums.

That's okay Julie, its nice to have details of other peeps.  I often get calls from Yorkshire and other far flung strange places!!  Usually asking me if I can deliver 3 chickens to somewhere 100 miles away!!! lol.  Next time, I'll just give them your number!!! lol

Following Grannie Annies's post I'll just point out that the main problem with emails on the forum is that they are picked up by spam engines. On the poultry suppliers listings, I have obfuscated them in the code so they can't be picked up but they are workable in a browser.
