morning all, i started my kelsae onion seed end of dec in a unheated conservatory, they germinated well an now are 4 inches, BUT the have flopped over ,an just lay there,mayed asleep lol , any ideas please  ty mick

Damping off ?  :( Does this affect onions ?   :wub: Cheers,   Tony.

Yes, damping off does affect onions.

The coolness very likely activated a fungus called damping off which kills seedlings at the soil level. Once gone (flopped), there's no revival.

Try reseeding the onions but this time top with a layer of vermiculite or fine gravel to minimize the fungus growth. And don't water too much as this contributes to the fungus damage.

The initial watering can be done with Cheshunt Compound (if it is still on the market) to try to prevent damping off, too
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
