Canned Beans (freezing/reheating)
« on: January 01, 2009, 22:36 »
If I make a tuscan bean soup using canned beans is it ok to freeze it and reheat it again later? Will the beans be ok?

Cheers (have loads of cavolo nero to eat and this soup should use it nicely)

yes  :D  but reheat gently or the beans will break up, mind you not a disaster as they'll make the soup good and thick  :D  Sounds delish, and well done on the Cavolo.

try growing some beans this year (if you haven't already done so) as they're easy. Thinking borlotti beans which are a doddle  :D

I have tried the past two years but lost them to frost and by the time I got some more going they were too late. End of season and they still weren't ready. Also had flooded plot year before that.

Promise to try again this year  :)
