I bought a multipack of 3 beetroot varieties, boltardy, cylindrical and egyptian. They weren't separately bagged. When I do sow them can you tell the varieties apart from the top growth?

Not easily tbh

Once the root starts to form though it is easier: cylindra sticks up out of the ground quite a lot, egyptian is flattish and boltardy is a spherical root, the shoulder sof which are often visible

I think you start off by asking the same question to the seed merchant

Don't sow them yet, best to wait till April, you can sow them a few weeks apart during the growing season that way you won't have a glut all at once

They are only from £land, I've only tried the globe variety so wasn't sure if they al taste similar.
I am waiting till april anyway to see what space I have left on the plots
