Any idea as to why I am occasionally getting a white yolk, tastes perfectly fine but not the rich colour I am used to.  Have had my 6 hens since March 2010, this has only recently happened???

Do you just mean pale rather than white ?  I#ve never seen a "white" egg yolk !

I do mean white (virtually no colour at all!).  Incidentally, it is not a deficiency of greens as they get plenty, and it is only 1 egg out of the 6 laid.

The same thing happened to me a while ago i dont know what caused it but after a few weeks it went back to normal. But i would be very interested in finding out why.

Not sure how a pic can help (besides I've eaten it!)  But seriously, it looks completely normal, except it's WHITE!!!

I'm taking that it was like this photo. It is a pigmentation problem, hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge of egg pigmentation can help
