And since I only have 6 hens, it means that my pullets are starting to lay :D
The little egg was so very cute. Only 33g and hidden in the broody coop, not in the main laying places

Yay! :)

so how old are your pullets then Casey - are they some you have bred or bought?
Oh and congratulations :D

The pullets are 20 weeks old, and are the females of my meat birds - except one black rock (long story, but I was forbidden by friends to process the pullet meat birds lol).
Fortunately they all look like laying birds because they are all dual purpose breeds (except the JA857 which looks more like a pale ISA brown than a meat hybrid - maybe there was a mixup at the hatchery!)
Chicks I have hatched myself will be POL (18 weeks) in the lat week of September and I'm so excited about that, even though i got the others as day-olds, I don't think there is anything quite like gitting eggs from chicks you have hatched yourself :D

so true :D
