Where do you guys buy your layers pellets from? Iam in Derbyshire Bakewell and have just paid £7.67 for a 20kg bag of ordinary layers pellets. Organic are 15.97 which seems expensive? Any thoughts or ideas. Not that I am a cheapskate but last time I bought organic they were only about £12 I am sure...... Thanks in advance of your comments.

Mark I buy A & P organic layers and organic mixed corn - a sack of each lasts me about 5-6 weeks - and they cost me around £25 for the two. My local pet shop has to order it in for me. But you're right it is expensive - I did look at buying it direct but the delivery bumped it right up. Love the taste of my eggs so will stick to buying it, but it means that I can't compete with others price wise should I wish to sell my eggs (at the moment I give them away to friends, family and people who gift me things on freecycle,  ).

Have you not got an amimal feed outlet or equestrian supplies stockist near you?
I'm in Norfolk and I get mine from a nearby supplies store and it costs £5.95 for a 20kg sack (on special offer at the mo)
Pet shops will usually work out more expensive, but then you have to weigh up the convienience issue.

Local feed store charge £6 for normal pellets and £12.5 for the organic for 20kg, but I am skint so they only get the normal ones here, but lots of greens and freeranging the garden.... what's left of it anyway
