Timing for winter salads?
« on: July 12, 2015, 20:23 »
Hi

After all the toms and cukes get pulled out of the beds I would like to get loads of winter salads planted.  Lettuce mostly.

Any tips on getting the most out of it welcome.

The best advice I can give you is to get or borrow Joy Larkcom's book Grow Your Own Vegetables, it's all explained perfectly in there  ;)

Hi,

I normally put my arctic king lettuce seed in about the end of september. Then put the plants out in my cold frames, I water them in then leave them for the winter.
