I got grew one of these successfully last year (the other just withered away) and the fruit were nice and different to present in a salad.

So this year I grew another 2 - out of three seeds so not too bad.  Planted them out sharing a big planter and they were thriving. There is a little thyme plant in there too which is healthy, and if I was overwatering, it would be telling me. Then one day, one of them was limp and by the end of 24 hours dead.  No idea why except the stalk was brown and sodden at soil level.  Couldnt dig the roots up to see them because I didnt want to disturb the other plant.  That has been growing well and showing signs of flowers.  And this afternoon, it is all limp.  Any ideas?  Because at this rate it is going the way of its friend!

It could be slug damage at soil level, which has then turned to rot

Slug pellets dont touch the little black slugs below the surface, do they?  Do you know what does??
