Have you tried buying from the farmer. As you live in lincs I'm sure you could get a ready supply and far cheaper. We pay £1'50 a bale.

Most up here are huge and go to the straw burner. I normally buy from the feed merchant so might pop by tomorrow on route to Meth. My hay and straw bales are now half used so can't measure them.

There are 2 standard sizes.
18"x36"x14      2 string.
24"x46-48"x15x16"  3 string
Height and width are fixed the length can be easily changed.
