Im sort of ready but other thing keep holding me back right now and im itching to get down there and do something .  I got break pads to do on the car tomorrow morning then i should be on my way to get some more bits done. Early start for me i think.

got everything planned for saturday afternoon - shopping done early  - get their own lunch flask of tea made up and off to the plot to dig over the next bit - can't wait- they won't see me back home till its getting dark

im ready after today, dug the last bit over in the week, just put last barrow full of manure on the last of next years potato plot today.

Went down today to cut a lettuce, happened to pick up a bottle of red on the way and sat there visualising what it will be like next year. We got the plot in April and are on top of the weeds, and have some sprouts waiting for the frost, spring cabbage and garlic looking good for next year and some broad beans just poking through. Over the next few weeks I plan to build a short fence next to the shed for a bit of shelter and to grow some beans up, and sort out a second compost bin. Other than that, just potter.

I'm all set now. Everything, including fruit trees, is manured, the various beds rotovated, garlic planted. Compost bins are filled and topped with a layer of manure. Just have to build lids for the bins during the winter. All the tools are in the garage, barrows tipped over to stay dry, firewood all cut and stacked. Winter can blow in any time now as I don't start seeds until march.

No, I still have loads to do!  I still haven't finished clearing out the greenhouse, still have onions and shallots to plant (this weekend!), have a chicken run to build, my second plot to clear, putting extra bark on the paths, weeding the raised beds, clearing the runner beans...

Oh, now I am depressed!

I've got cabbages to plant out, rasperries to buy and plant, dig the runner bean bed over, tidy the strawberries, clean out the shed and turn the compost!

Sounds a lot when it's written down!

I'll be glad to spend some more time on the plot next week when the girls go back to school.

It's the etcetera that seems to keep most people going in the winter isn't it?

Small things like scrubbing pots, going on leaf hunts (is no one else here sweeping up leaves as fast as possible for rotting down?), checking netting and canes, sharpening knives, shears, cutting instruments, replacing worn out equipment .....

I've got one bed to dig over ready for the winter frosts to break it all up ; trim and tidy the blackberries; trim the gooseberries; dig out the border at the side of the shed including taking out the dahlias and putting the tubers away, then putting in the hydranga bushes; and cutting down both the asparagus beds and covering it all with a few inches of manure, and then planting my garlic .  Then that's it for me until the week between Christmas and New Year , when I'll be starting off my mammoth onions in seeds .  I'll be replacing the Christmas tree in the conservatory with all my seed trays and pots from January onwards   I just hope the rain stays away until I've done it all, I really hate getting bogged down in wet and muddy conditions

Any1 have blueberry plants at all. Do u cut them down now or just leave them.
