Hello,A quick update on my broody bantam that was swaying her head and walking backwards.I isolated her which seems to have shaken her broodiness away.I have wormed my stock,had a deep clean,given poultry tonic,vaselened all legs,and given some anti-biotic to the affected bird.She is lots better,feeding well and only very occasionally freezing for a second or two.I found a bird on u-tube iJVu2a4d1kU that was behaving exactly the same.(walking bacwards,head movement exact.)
 Further reading tells me it can be effects of a mineral deficiency + malting.She is looking a bit scruffy.and is in a bit of bad condition because of being broody.I have also read and was suggested to me kindly on here that she might have an ear infection,thus the anti -biotic.
  I am confident she will improve  now so thanks for the advice and best wishes to everyone-Alec

So glad your hen is on the mend im going to do what you have done for your hen. It does look serious doesnt it when it happens. A friend who is a farmer said to me it maybe her ear. Ive had 2 big bullies ive tried to introduce to mine but they have done them more damage than enough so they have gone to new owners. Just hope her ear isnt damaged. Thankyou Alec.
