I think its a snakes head somthing not to sure dont remember planting it and will it seed.

Lucky you... They are exquisite 

Bulbs but they will propogate from seed.

I would leave it alone.  They spread by seed if you have the right soil.  They grow in damp meadows in the wild.

You can buy packs of bulbs in the autumn, if you want to speed up the process 

I have some that probably came from a nearby neighbour and I love them. They seem to have increased in number so they must have seeded.

I live in the north east so they probably wont like the cold.

Mum i was joking its allways cold here its the northeast  its all we know , with all this global warming going on its only getting colder and wetter if the beetles come up here they will need to pack a vest .
