Title: Egg Incubator
Post by: splash101 on April 05, 2012, 12:44
Does anbody use & can recomend an electric egg incubator. Capacity 20-30

I had a fully auto Brinsea 20 a few years ago and it did the job perfectly.
There are alternatives units available at a cheaper price, but not sure whether to stick with what i know or try something different at a lower cost.

(of course i am still ever hopefull that one of my girls maybe able to do the job, just not sure if she is going broody or lazy  :D)

if broody she will fluff up and growl at you .
I am a great believer in you pay for what you get and brinsea are still a very good make, fully automatic so taking a lot of the risk out of hatching. I don't think when you are dealing with a life it is worth risking it.

Thank you, i think you have confirmed what i was thinking along the lines of the Brinsea.

She isnt growling, she is just spending along time in the nest box, a couple of hours after she has laid. She has been like that for a couple of weeks. Then she will spring out of the box business as usual. At least she is the last one to go in so it doesnt hold the others up.

I'm going to see now if she has done for today
