New Buxom Wenches
« on: May 08, 2008, 22:12 »
Got two new girlies four days ago, took until today for them to settle in with my silkie hen and cockerel, but now they are just fine and mixing well.

Bought from a farm, they have been used to living in a barn, so they found "outside" quite strange to start with.   They are laying quite well already :D  For the first two days they drank LOADS of water, had slightly runny poohs too, but now all has settled down and they are really happy bunnys.

Bertha, so named as she is a 'big girl'.   And Doris has long dangly glass beaded earings and a headscarf (well she looks as though she should have!)

Is is silly to get sooooo much pleasure from these amazing birds?

definitely not!!! I thought it might wear off but I still get gooey over my girls especially the 6 of them that let me pick them up and give them a cuddle    The other two are just anti-social hellraisers but I still love 'em

No, it's fabulous! I've had more enjoyment from my chickens over the last couple of months than from any other pet I've ever had just because they are so entertaining.  :)
