crop rotation

This may seem a daft question,read about following early potatoes with leeks.Iam confused how I can fit this in with crop rotation plan I have,any advice welcome

Yes, don't get too wound up with strict crop rotation as you see in books.

It's a good guideline, but to stray slightly outside these guides is not the end of the world. The most important thing is generally not to keep repeating like for like.

Leeks after early spuds is a good way to crop twice from the same piece of ground.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Because I have limited space I always follow early spuds with leeks. Although leeks are aliums they don't go in my normal rotation as the onions/shallots are not normally lifted till August which is a bit late for putting leeks in. As DD says, crop rotation is an ideal but don't get hung up on it.

We're trying later broad beans after the first earlies this year.

Thanks that advice.I shall go with the leeks to follow my potatoes and follow with something different next year.
