rhubarb

Hi All
I have been offered some rhubarb plants from another allotment

All the books say to planr in october is it possible to dig them up in a lump shift them to mine now or is it best to wait till october.

I should wait until they have stopped growing.
I new there would be a good reason for it

I had moved some rhubarb from another location earlier on in the spring. It was already growing and had several full stems. After a bit of a slow start it is doing very well now. The original stems did die off a bit after transplanting but I think it takes a lot to kill the plant.
