Somehow I managed to come home from the garden centre with a tray of celery - as you do! :wink: (not to mention more sweetcorn cos hubby heard you only get a couple of cobs from each plant!)
What do I need to do to look after it?
I have a feeling it's going to be a big woos and need lots of looking after!

I keep mine in individual 6" pots, then put them in a tray and keep about an inch of water in the tray at all times, dont let them dry out, and you should get some nice strong stalks. Oh, there in the polytunnel all the time as well.

I grow them outside in a manured bed, this is for self-blanching and plant them in a block about a foot each way, water plenty as said.
You are thinking of planting them up , so make sure they are hardy and have seen some rains and winds to some extent of a hardening off kind off way.

They've been sitting outside for a week now... and seem quite happy. :D
They are Victoria which I understand is self blanching which makes life easier.... so I'll prepare a nice bed for them this weekend. :thumright:
