[Pretty Chick]

We have two 3 week old chicks.
I've just been down to them and they flew at each other, banged chests and then continued to eat their chick crumbs. They weren't being vicious, just puffed themselves out and banged chests. They normally get along very well.

What does this mean?

Are they both cockerels and were fighting?

1 hen and 1 cockerel?  

or maybe (hopefully) 2 hens?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Pretty Chick!  don't worry, all my chicks do that, whether they are boys or girls!  They are play fighting, just practising for when they are bigger!!

This is interesting. We have two young Welsummers which do this as a sort of greeting when they've been apart. It's clearly not aggressive. None of our other birds do it.
