I'm growing Loch Ness - a thornless one. Recommended & given to me by another forum moderator, but this will be the first year with any fruit to speak of, so can't speak from personal experience.

Definitely thornless.  This time of year there should be berries on the plants, so you can taste before buying  ;)

We got a thornless one last year, think its loch ness, but wouldnt be certain, if youve got kids (as we have) thornless is a much nicer way for them to pick fruit!!

Definitely any thornless variety, otherwise they'd never get picked simply because I couldn't get near them. And do keep them staked as they'll very quickly root if the canes touch the ground. A few extras is fine, a sudden jungle isn't.
