Thanks purplebat the site looks great, lots to add to my To Do List
-
That looks very useful leeky :D Thanks :!:

Here's another great site with free plans! Was looking for some ideas on how to build a shed.
http://www.freeww.com/index.html
Fantastic sheds (barns) but I don't think I'll ever get hold of enough wood to build one!!
-
neat! loads of stuff there.
collect the big pallets AA. i found the easiest way to break them up (less storage space) is to get two crowbars and lever the planks upward rather than trying to hammer them off the crossmembers :D
-
Thanks Leeky! Just need to find a good supply of quality pallets. Hubby reckons we can build a bigger and better shed than we could afford to buy but I'm not sure where we'll get enough wood from and if we'll manage to build it stable enough. Desperatley need to have a go though as the "shed" left on our allotment is about to fall down!
-
it can definitely be done FAR cheaper than buying one. heres mine ( another chance to show the pic again   )
cost me screws and felt. all the rest was found or pallets. its a 12x10 and i get smug when i read the prices in the cataloge for an equivalent

-
its actually a chequered flag!

:D
and another thing you can tell its a mans shed is because there are no bent nails
-
im scared of Aunt Sally, shaun  dont!
-
So you should be Leeky, but Shaun likes to live dangerously
-
its true mate women cant knock nails in without bending them its been scientifically proven in many controlled tests around the globe
-
Steady Shaun. I'm a wooden doll. I know all about nails

its the hammers head, shaun. its not flat enough :tongue2:
i will tell yer why this happens, its the way they hold the hammer, they hold it right next to the hammer head instead of holding it at the handle and they try to push the nail in instead of knocking it in
-
You're asking to go on the naughty step boys
I'll have you know I'm Bl***y good with a hammer, and I'll have you know I even have certificates for circular saw, band saw, planers and thicknessers, drills and many more big bits of kit. I was responsible for workshop safety in 6 teaching workshops for 5 years. :tongue2:
Nice shed by the way Leeky :D
-
if i was made of wood the last thing i would want to be playing with is a circular saw
-

Very true ! Perhaps that's why I'm only 5 ft tall
-
WOW!!!!
-
I'm sure leeky's a girlie isn't he, so it really is a girlie shed - the clues are there to be seen - all straight lines, square joints, straight nails, pair of nice smelling trainers in the doorway (a bloke wouldn't have bovered taking them off b4 entering the hallowed interior) and sun lamp all lit up and ready for top up tan action!
-

I think he's getting close to getting pushed off the top step aunty!!!!!
I know how to hold a hammer Shaun, I live with a builder!!!! Taught me most of what he knows!!!!

I rebuilt a shed yesterday, replaced boards and battens and all sorts; I didn't bend a single nail; I've been married to a builder as ell and I was a single mum for a while which means, as single mums know; you either learn to do it yourself or it don't get done; mind you that also applies when you're married as well

steak knife for a screwdriver and a high heel for a swansea spanner (hammer)

Nice site. I will learn a lot.
Thanks
