Title: First egg off my white hen

Last night I had my first ever egg from my white hen... the same hen who was so badly attacked I didn't think she would make it through the night only three weeks ago.

Having said that she is 42 weeks old, so it's about time!

It is small (the same size as my sabelpoot eggs!) but perfectly formed... I may have a mini egg on toast for supper tonight!

Well, after collecting another two from the same place, I've come to the conclusion it was a poot egg after all, and therefore it's destinged for the incubator :lol:

I currently have 2 poot eggs due on the 28 March, which was a test, fertility, run, and a further 5 due on 06 Apr - so far 100% fertility  :D

One of our Josephine poots has started laying and another 3 have started to curtsy, when I saw how tiny the eggs were it made me wonder how tiny the chicks would be?

my Belgians lay slighly smaller eggs than my poot  :)

Aww, tiny, tiny then Casey, in my head I've a picture of lots of tiny fluffy finch size poots :happy:

Joy, I'll have to have a nosey when I bring your new poots over :D I'm going up to the farm next week to see how things are going hatch wise :D

Just brought another tiny egg in from the huge 12x18 inch nest box ::) that's 4 now all being kept for wee Evie and Josh's tea on Tuesday :D
