... can you ask Val where she gets her muslin from?  I can't find any locally, well other than stuff for cosmetic use, which is expensive.

She couldn't find anywhere that sold reasonable amounts so she pops spices and stuff into old pop socks (I think they've been washed :) )

Can normally find it in fabric stores. It's fairly cheap per metre. There's a few online fabric stores that will happily ship you a metre or so of it. Probably way more than you ever need since it comes in either 45" or 60" width :)

No, Val's old laddered pop-socks haven't killed us off yet :)

She's busy stringing chilli peppers to dry at the moment -

John - am still feeling slightly queazy at the thought of old laddered pop socks having a second life in a culinary pickle - just wondering - what re-use will you be making of Val's plastercast when this is removed?

Well when they're washed they're as hygenic as anything else, I expect.
As for the plaster cast.... there must be some use for them but darned if I can think of one.

Well, would you all think good thoughts at Val's ankle so they take the plaster off next Thursday and I may be saved from any more shopping.
Have to go to Sainsbury later - Milk and cat food. Poor old cat loves Sainsbury's cat food so I don't begrudge getting that.

Don't get too excited John - now she has got out of the habit of chore shopping Val's ongoing recuperation plans probably won't involve taking it up again - after all, she won't have been carefully teaching you how to spot a yellow label bargain at 50 paces for nothing....

How lovely that Val can just hand you a list for you to do it (and pay for it), leaving her to get on with other less mundane things!!!  Good on you Val!  :tongue2:
