As my little flock seems to be growing I've been on the lookout for a new, bigger hen house (once the chicks grow up I'll have 13 medium/large birds) but, with the exception of a Maggie's 24 from Flyte so Fancy which is out of my pocket, I can't seem to find anything I like.

However, I've seen a quirky child's play house which I'm thinking would look great converted but I'm worried that it will be TOO big. The actual living area would be about 5'deep by 6'wide and 6'high at the apex. It's loglap rather than T&G & pretty sturdy looking.

Anyone had any experience doing this sort of thing & can advise whether it'd be too big?

lots of people have converted wendy houses for chicken homes (although others would say it's not a good idea  ). You can always use the extra space for storing their feed and bedding etc

we (I say we but I mean my husband really  )did this - its great - we have 10 chickens in there, they are ex-battery so we wanted to give them the little luxuary of space and there is a lot of room left!!  will have to get some pics posted on here x

We recently bought a 6 x 4 shed to store all the chicken paraphernalia.  It is too big for the job but would easily convert to chicken coop plus store.  Will have to wait until we move and get an even bigger garden though.

Must be patient, must be patient, must be............argh, want a bigger garden now!!
