Title: RIP MARGO :-(
Post by: cejx on February 06, 2012, 17:11
Sadly Margo didn't make it home from the vet.  We feel horribly sad, but also really happy that the last 18 months of Margo's life was significantly better than the first 18 months - stuck in a Battery cage.  She was spoilt, loved, cuddled and given all the foods and treats she really shouldn't have eaten - and in return we had a delightful naughty hen, who gave us an egg every day,  dug up the garden and sneaked into the kitchen and ate the cat food.

Sorry to hear about Margo, it sounds like she was a very loved little hen, good on you for giving her that chance to be a 'naughty hen'  :(

Gone but never forgotten by the sounds of it she was a real character.  Margo obviously had a whale of a time living a full and mischevious life with you.  Remember that 3 years is a decent age for a battery hen.  Enjoy your memories of Margo and her antics cejx.   :)

Really sorry to hear your news but as everybody else has said, she was lucky to have a 2nd chance in life and she obviously made the most of it!

I am sure if people knew what little characters hens are they would never buy battery again. RIP Margo.

Thank you for your kind words.  Poor Ginger is now coming to terms with being at the bottom of the pecking order...  xxx
