Amazing how our climates differ JC.  We had rain all day yesterday but now back to very pleasant mild dry weather.

13C at 5am yesterday which is almost the same we had in July daytime!

Lovely sunny day here too. So inspired by your post I went down the garden, with a song in my heart and a spring in my step, to make a start on the second raised bed.

Veggie growing is a great leveller. Found an old tree root about 14 feet long and as thick as my arm running right through where the bed's going! And it's got loads of branches off which will need digging up too.

I won't post a pic - it's too depressing!!

Anyway, still good while it lasted. And I've had some exercise.
Growing salad leaves isn't rocket science.

Amazing. If you were to draw a straight line from Huntly  across to Shiel Bridge it wouldn`t really be a million miles away...............just in terms of the weather!
Already ordered  and planted my garlic bulbs for this year but taken note of your Web site and will contact you in 2008 for 2009 planting.

A few big lumps of mountains which knock out most of the rain at your side.  We get 27" annual rainfall, I guess you'd be at least double that. ...   (garlic   )
