New Chicken Coop- moveable
« on: March 15, 2008, 21:26 »
I have just been given a large triangular style chicken coop/rabbit hutch - the house is roughly 3ft by 2ft with a run of 6ft by 2ft - how many bantams can I fit in this.

Also, any tips on attaching a perch? how big? how low can it be?  could anyone recommend someome selling bantams in suffolk?

Advice mush appreciated!

There is a man near Eye that sells Pekin Bantams and he does a couple of others I think. If your interested I can find the details as I went to see him as I was thinking of Bantams as I have a small space. He wanted 15 pounds each which I thought was quite a lot but I'm not sure cos I don't really know the going rate.

The ark sounds OK for a few bantams. 3x2 =6 birds at roughly a foot per bird although as its triangular might be a little less headroom. The run is quite small at 6x2. Chooks do need 1m (roughly 3x3foot per bird I think) and thats an absolute minumum.Would be Ok if you could extend run or perhaps let them have time roaming free in your garden? No idea about breeders where you are I'm afraid!
