sorry about this but these were in garden wen we moved in anyone tell me what it is,it had 3large red flowers that are now dying off inside are three pods are these seed pods? if so how can I take sthe seed from these.many thanks

I don't think they seed but you can divide the bulbs,

We found this out when our cocker spaniel dug ours up and must have took some bulbs and buried them, we now got 3 plant in different places  :)

Split the root in late Autumn keeping a few eyes for each piece - and don't be tempted to replant them deeper, they have to be near the surface or they don't flower very well.

I've had a peony in my garden for 3 years now, and it's never flowered. This year, some buds developed, but did not get further than the bud stage. It's kept well watered and fed occasionaly. Is there any point persevering with it for another year or is it time to put something different in?

Is the crown of the plant level with the top of the soil, above it, or below it?  I have a vague recollection that they don't like being too deep.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
