Is it safe to grow trailing plants up the fence that surrounds my chicken coop?

If you want them to be eaten by the chickens, yes!

Also check any choice is not poisonous.

I put a cage of chicken wire around plants I don't want to be chomped, so the bit that grows inside the wire is protected and the bit that grows above is too high for them to reach. There are ways of trying to have a garden around chickens, but you have to be cleverer than them!
