Too late for Melons?
« on: June 08, 2013, 21:51 »
Evening all!  Just wondering if, given a cold May, whether it would be ok to try and grow some melons now?  I'm thinking along the lines of something like the 'Minnesota Midget' as found on the Real Seed website http://www.realseeds.co.uk/melons.html .  Hooray I did the linky thing!  Sadly not on my own, OH helped (again)  ::)

Should be fine, most cucurbits are sown direct in late may to early June.

I'd do it sooner, rather than later though.
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

I'd better place an order now then.... Have you heard?  We can ALL blame Growster for any seed madness that occurs now.  Planted more Kohl Rabi today  :tongue2:

I've got itchy fingers right now!  I planted another 20 tom seeds yesterday!  Why?  I already have 15 plants and its only me who likes them in our house!  OH may venture a taste downwind on a good day.  But lets not 'go there' as they say!  Anyway, like I said, MumofStig said we could blame Growster.  So thats alright  ;).  Now real seeds have a minimum £8 order so.......... ::)

Ah well, you have a lovely excuse to be a bit .  I have none, to the mortification of my son; I have just become very strange and embarrassing and slightly unpredictable, for no reason what so ever!  Such fun! Actually, turning 40 last year did it for me, come to think of it  ;)
