Title: bees in railway sleeper?

we have some railway sleepers as border edging round some of our garden and have noticed that bees are going in out off one of them that is a bit rotten in the middle.they seem to be taking in clover leaves.
as yet they are not bothering us,apart from the dogs nipping at the odd one or two.
any suggestions.
none of us like honey

I very much doubt that they would be bees, more likely to be wasps.

It could be leaf cutter bees,  we have them somewhere in our garden.

So they have no colour in there tail/abdomen?
How big would you guess your nest is in centimetres.

I doubt they are honey bees. But if they are are you move the sleeper then I would put your  running shoes on.  If they are not a problem leave them there.  Bees will not sting you unless you are a threat to them. For example if you stand there and throw your arms about then you are going to get stung.  I spent most of yesterday sat 1 foot away with no vial on watching my bees coming and going. I had two bees land on me in four hours (I know sad 4 hours watching bees) and they did not sting me just flew off again.

we found lots of dead hornets and their nests inside the Peterbilt truck that we imported from the States last year.
