anybody make any bits on a metal lathe. i have a milnes  ml2 ( see pic )similar to mine  4ft flatbed  6 inch face plate and centre chuck

niether mate just interested in those that do any remaking of bits for machines etc ,saves money buying in some special parts ,when your able to make them its more enjoyable as well .

I've used a lathe a couple of times but dont feel too confident. A mill though is totally different, I'll use a mill without hesitation, but I'm only a novice. So far the only homework I've done is mill the carburettor flange flat on one of my BSA Bantams. Damned thing still didn't work. I'm now going to spend the rest of the evening thinking of something I can mill on one of my rotavators. I prefer the tool to spin, not the metal.

I used to work in a machine shop before I went to uni and re-trained, I'd love to get some machine tools in the future because I kinda miss it.
