Title: Please recommend a usable garden hose and reel
Post by: mumofstig on April 20, 2024, 16:40
The one I bought last year just kinks flattens and refuses to wind up properly. It drives me crazy
I know I'll have to pay more, but I just can't put up with this one any longer

They're on offer at the moment at screwfix https://www.screwfix.com/c/outdoor-gardening/garden-hoses/cat840692  plenty of no kink claims on every brand I checked. I bought a "heavy duty" yellow unbranded one from them about a decade ago and it's still going strong but the green garden hoses I've bought since as extension have been useless.

I think mines a hozelock one that you wind by turning a handle, it’s usually ok & I’ve had it a good few years but I do drain it down for the winter & put it away. I have managed to get it to kink but that was user error.
In all honesty I really rate Gardena watering products but I was bought the hose as a present.

This is my home one. My outside tap is on the back of the house and I have a long way to go to get to the front of the garden, so might be overkill for you.

The grey and yellow striped reinforced Hoselock hose is worth shelling out for though. It is so much better than the normal yellow hose I had before.

This set retails for around £70 full price. I waited until they having one of their discount days for club card customers   ;)
