Is there anyone on the forum that knows about Ixworth Bantams please? I have kept the Large fowl version before but have never seen the bantam version which is apparently now very rare. I understand that Mr. Appleyard considered them "superior" to the larger original, but he doesn't say in what way. If anyone actually HAS any, I would be interested in some.

did you have any luck with these?

ive kept Bassette for quite a few years and thought id never need anything else. However ive not managed to keep them producing well, and egg numbers are now reduced after many years, sadly ive been unable to find any new blood.

ive even intruded an outcross but the roosters dont seem interested in those hens!
