Lawn edging
« on: April 02, 2024, 20:52 »
Any recommendations? I was looking a plain steel 150mm deep but they want 250 for 20m. I see https://www.greenfingers.com/p19066/everedge_classic_lawn_edging_l5m_x_h75cm.aspx with spikes which would cost me 160 for 20m. Anyone used it or other source? Thanks.

Yes I’ve considered this as well, I’ve thought about finding a cheaper source, perhaps need a fabricator or someone, if that’s the right term/job

I've had them a couple of years now (they were cheaper back then)
I have used my strimmer, and even thought the strimmer hits it, they havent lost any colour
I know my garden center had something like them
How much do you need ?
I have also got some wooden ones, when treated that dont seem to rot or affected by the weather

I got some recycled rubber ones from Greenfingers with the spikes etc. As I'm a bit belt and braces, I just wanted something that would last and do a good job. The lawn edges are cut with shears so there's no catching them with a strimmer wire.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I once bought green plastic edging strips. They weren't very robust and eventually disintegrated in the UV light of daylight.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I had them, only lasted one season, they broke up into shards
That is why I went over to wood and metal ones
I have the wooden ones to separate the grass from the pathway and the metal ones to separate the grass from my planting area (I have blueberry's and beetroot there)
I have solar LED lights on the wooden ones
The metal ones are 1 meter long by 200mm high
