African violet

So I took leaf cuttings from an African violet and left them for ages! and now 2 of them have little leaves growing from the bottom.

I'm sure I read that these should be removed from the original leaf, but I can't remember where I saw that.
Is that the correct thing to do or do I separate them and plant the new leaf with the old leaf, if you see what I
mean!

Don't want to damage them now as the original plants are in the compost bin!
