Posted a message on Saturday re my injured pekin bantam (fox attack) she is still with us after receiving good advice from other members so thank you - however we can get fluid down her with a syringe but she is still refusing to eat - any suggestions have tried just about everything - how long can she go on without food - any help please

You can make up a gruel with mashed layers pellets, whizzed up hard boiled egg and a very little honey.  Mix it all up with warm water until you can syringe it. 

Be very careful not to drown your hen by feeding too fast or too much at once :)

If you know how to use the syringe safely how about making a weak mushy liquid with the pellets and seeing if you can syringe that down her throat.  Also, have you tried any different foods to try to tempt her such as tuna or yoghurt?  Good luck and I hope she starts eating soon.

Yes I have tried just about everything including all her favourites and a gruel of pellets but not tried using a syringe - what is the safest way and how much at a time she is a tiny bantam.  Thank you.

Trying to find a thread about how to syringe as it isn't something I've had to do.
