that's sad  news indeed Jez a good old fashioned gardener always said it as it was no nannying around with him
 a real down to earth bloke not seen him for some time but he will all ways be remembered in the gardening fraternity as true gardener as old gardeners never die

Sad news indeed.

We just loved his pure enthusiasm and his book 'The complete vegetable gardener', was an inspiration to thousands of new - and older gardeners. His theme of being able to produce so much from a plot just 3m x 4m gave anyone the chance to enjoy our pastime to the limit; it's still the best book I have here, and is very grubby and well-thumbed!
