can you tell me why the leafs little bit shrivelled thanks

If they've had enough regular water, then it's possible they got a light touch of frost. Frost doesn't kill them, just sets them back a wee bit.

Just had a thought... are these newly planted? If so, were they hardened off first? That can result in some wilt if they weren't.

They was removed 3 to 4 weeks a go from another allotment

Ahh, that explains it. They need a lot of water right now, a little bit of nourishment, and a bit of shade if you're getting a lot of sun. Moved plants have a hard time readapting with everything hitting them at the same time. Once they perk up, you can remove the shade and keep watering unless you're getting lots of rain.

once they shrivelled they were always going to die - don't worry - new leaves should be fine as long as they get enough water  ;)
